Weekends are made for fun, family and more fun! And when it comes to great weekends, Cape Town has the perfect lineup of activities and experiences for everyone.

HoodLinkd has put together a list of the best ways to spend a weekend in the city centre – they’re connected to a range of businesses in the CBD so we know this weekend guide will be at the top of your to-do list.

Let us know your how you spent your weekend in the CBD, tag those businesses and #hoodlinkd on Instagram or Facebook.

What is HoodLinkd

HoodLinkd is a not so brand-new anymore web-based app that connects customers with businesses in a specified area. It’s about ‘local is lekker’ via a funky, comprehensive, and easy-to-use platform – without any limits with regards to type or size of business.

The idea for HoodLinkd grew out of a passion to support small and medium-sized local businesses by offering them a convenient and affordable platform to connect with their target market. Their goal is to assist businesses in improving their online presence, maximising their local customer base, and strengthening their neighbourhood’s economy.

HoodLinkd has been designed to offer maximum convenience for users. True to the slogan ‘Your hood in one app’, the team features an electronic business directory (Bye Bye Yellow Pages), an event calendar, and weekly updated specials/deals by local businesses.

Keep an eye on their Deals section. It’s a game-changer for everyone looking to save while exploring the city. Users simply filter by industry or keyword and get instant access to promotions offered by local businesses.

Whereas users can register for free, businesses can choose between different packages (ranging from free to premium versions). To download the app, simply go to www.hoodlinkd.com on your mobile device and follow the pop-up instructions.

The market features local vendors selling fresh produce, artisanal bread, coffee, smoothies, and more with live music.

The next market days are 15 and 29 January 2022. The market opens from 9am to 2pm.

STOCK UP THE PANTRY AT ORANJEZICHT FARMERS MARKET

Stock up on some fresh produce and locally crafted goods at the popular Oranjezicht City Farm Market, a farmers-style market located at Granger Bay next to the V&A Waterfront.

Explore the various stalls offering organic veg and fruit at their seasonal peak, freshly baked bread, organic honey, fresh seafood, free-range meat and eggs, and organic dairy products, as well as plants and seedlings, compost and gardening supplies and equipment.

Indulge various artisanal food and refreshment stalls offering a range of delicious cooked, baked and raw foods, fresh beverages and good coffee.

The market offers plenty of outdoor seating with views over the Atlantic Ocean and Table Bay and is a favourite of locals and tourists alike. The market is also children and dog-friendly.
