Where to Stay in Swellendam

Nestled between the Langeberg Mountains and Breede River, Swellendam is the third oldest town in South Africa. This Garden Route dorpie is the epitome of breathtaking nature, a vibrant and friendly community and Cape Dutch architecture, making it one of the best heritage getaway destinations to visit.

After spotlighting a list of must-see and do activities in the small town, Saadiq Samodien curated a selection of accommodation options in Swellendam for a spontaneous romantic getaway or family get-together. Your support will be a great relief for businesses affected during the pandemic as you help fellow South Africans get back on their feet.

Swellendam upholds the strictest safety and hygiene measures to help keep COVID-19 a bay. As a gesture of goodwill at this vital time, the team at UberClean sanitized the entire town with high-pressure spray to combat harmful pathogens whilst eliminating microorganisms, viruses and bacteria found in common spaces. The product used is eco-friendly, biodegradable and is safe for the environment, humans and animals. Read more about the initiative here

The result is a 5-star country house with lush gardens, peaceful fountains and landscaped lawns, perfect to relive your Enid Blyton countryside fantasy.
