Wilderer Distillery is renowned for award-winning Grappa, Gins and Eau de Vie (Spirits) with over 100 international accolades and Gold Awards, all created from the custom-built 700L copper distillery based in Paarl.
Helmut Wilderer, a German restaurateur founded the Wilderer Distilleries in 1995 and is South Africa’s first established private distillery. The featured products include Rose Water Gin, Fynbos Gin, Fynbos Honey Liqueur, Grappa Shiraz & Pinotage, and the Rogue Apple Pie Moonshine.
The award-winning Rose Water Gin incorporates the subtle rose with elements of juniper and spice creating a well-balanced blend of floral and fresh flavours. The distilling process infuses fresh rose petals along with juniper, cinnamon, cardamom, and other botanicals to recreate a natural Turkish Delight taste profile.
Wilderer Distillery also offers a range of recipes to enhance their products. The Lemon & Rosemary Cocktail consists of 50 ml of Wilderer Fynbos Gin, Broad slice of lemon, halved, a single twig of rosemary, ice and 200 ml of choice tonic water. The Fynbos Mojito Cocktail’s ingredients include 50ml Wilderer Fynbos, three lime wedges, three orange wedges, fresh mint, 25ml Monin mandarin syrup, and soda water.
The Wilderer produces renowned Grappa drinks are from the best available muscat, pinotage and shiraz grapes in SA. The Cape Fynbos Healing Herb Bitter is made from 32 fresh herbs and the Classic Eaux de Vie, such as Williams Pear and Obstler (Apple & Pear) are distilled from tree-ripened fruits.
