Award-winning designer Es Devlin’s new interactive sculptural work ‘Zoetrope’ is open for viewing on Silo Square at the V&A Waterfront. The work, which was commissioned by Mercedes-Benz, uses solar power and is a response to the pioneering Electrical Intelligence technology developed by the car manufacturer. Zoetrope imagines the potential for a future global network of solar-powered pavilions specific to their locations, each one acting as a unique charging station for the mind of the driver.
Devlin is known for her large-scale sculptural works that fuse technology and poetry. She has created sculptures for the London Olympics Closing Ceremony and for Beyoncé and U2 tours.
The sculptural work will remain open for a full year.
This is one of the many Cape Town attractions to enjoy at the V&A Waterfront.
